Ballymena Chamber of Commerce Hosts Successful Networking & AGM Event at Tullyglass Hotel and Residences

Ballymena Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed over 100 representatives from local businesses to a highly productive and engaging Networking and AGM event, held on Tuesday 22nd April at the renowned Tullyglass House Hotel & Residences.

A Strong Start with Networking and Collaboration
The morning began with an excellent breakfast in the newly refurbished Corinthian Suite, setting the tone for a valuable session of networking, collaboration, and business engagement. Attendees from across Ballymena and the wider Mid and East Antrim area had the opportunity to connect, share insights, and explore new opportunities.
Leadership Transition and Continued Growth
A key highlight of the AGM was the appointment of new Chamber leadership. Outgoing President Mark Wiggins (Power NI) nominated Peter Houston (Danske Bank) as his successor, with Gary Thompson (Riada Resourcing) elected as Vice President. Both appointments reflect the Chamber’s continued commitment to strong leadership and business representation, congratulations to Peter and Gary on their new roles.
The Chamber also celebrated its remarkable growth, with membership increasing by an impressive 96% over the past six years. To support this expansion, the Management Committee has been extended, ensuring it continues to reflect and represent the diverse and growing business community.

The networking event also featured short business spotlight presentations, with Sarah Lacey (Nourish and Nurture), Jackie Reid (AEL), and Jeremy Bryan (jtecit) each delivering concise and impactful overviews of their products and services.
Attendees then benefited from an insightful presentation by Graham Fitzgerald, Chief Operating Officer at the Irish Football Association, who outlined exciting development plans for the National Football Centre at Galgorm—an initiative set to bring further investment and opportunity to the local area.
