BID for Business Breakfast Event

Calling All Businesses! Are you prepared for the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) changes?

On the 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect when it supersedes the current UK Data Protection Act 1998. This law will affect any business that has day-to-day responsibility for data protection and expands the rights of individuals to control how their personal information is collected and processed.

This Regulation demands that you are able to demonstrate compliance with the data protection principles and if ignored, can have fines up to €20 million or four per cent of a firm’s global turnover (whichever is greater).

To prepare businesses for the changes, Ballymena BID and Ballymena Chamber of Commerce and Industry would like to invite you to the latest in our series of BID for Business Breakfasts focusing on the GDPR. The workshop will be delivered by Mark Raine  MSc, HR Consultant at Prestige Business Solutions and will:

  • Provide an overview of the new regulations that will affect all businesses
  • Identify the impact on your business area
  • Outline what action you may have to take
  • Provide information on the support and advice available

Join us on Wednesday 28th February from 7:30am to 9:00am in Montgomerys Restaurant, Ballymoney Street where a full cooked breakfast will be provided to all attendees.

The format of the breakfast will be:

7:30am – 7:45am: Welcome, Tea and Coffee

7:45am – 8:30am: Presentation followed by Questions and Answers

8:30am – 9:00am: Cooked Breakfast

This event is free to Ballymena BID and Chamber members. Non-members are also welcome and will be subject to a small charge of £10 per head.
