GES Group Open Day Success

GES Group welcomed their customers, key members of industry, and special guests to their Mallusk Open Day, held on Wednesday 11th March, 2015.

The aim of the Open Day was to showcase the Group’s recent £300,000 investment in their Mallusk premises, which included an extension and significant refurbishment, creating a 26,000 sq. ft. purpose-built facility.

The Open Day also presented the Group with the opportunity to highlight their recent re-brand, which has seen their wide variety of products, services and specialisms marketed under 5 key areas: Process AutomationPower & RotationRenewable PowerPower Systems and Technical Sales.

This new structure enables GES Group to provide a holistic power and energy solution, in-house, from their suite of services; ensuring high levels of quality for the customer, while enabling GES to be competitive within the market. The Company’s approach to business also promotes high levels of efficiency through their ISO programmes, which means positive outputs for the Company’s collaborations and partnerships.

Information Workshops

The Open Day began with a series of Information Workshops from GES suppliers and partners Eaton, Schneider, OEM, Brook Crompton, and SMC. This provided guests with a unique networking opportunity – to discover what new products are available on the market, while mixing with a variety of individuals from across a range of industries.

Speakers’ Address

GES Group have benefited from Newtownabbey Borough Council’s support in recent years, particularly with their Local Economic Development Programmes. The Mayor of Newtownabbey, Alderman Thomas Hogg, opened the Speakers Address by congratulating GES Group on their success, performance and growth over the past five years, “I’d like to congratulate Tom Grant, David Moore, the Management Team of GES, and all of their staff for achieving real growth for the organisation, and look forward to being able to support the business with more development initiatives in the future. I wish you the best of luck going forward.”

Special guest, Con O’Neill, Financial Director of H&W and Chairman of Manufacturing NI, regaled the audience with stories from the Group’s past, including their acquisition of H&W’s Machine Repair Division in 1997. The Speakers’ Address was rounded off by Tom Grant, CEO of GES Group, who entertained the audience with some tales from years gone by, and David Moore, Managing Director of the Group, who shared the Company’s vision for growth over the next 5 years, and beyond.

Managing Director, David Moore, commented, “The Open Day for our Mallusk facility was no doubt a landmark for GES Group – we provided customers with a guided tour of our new facility, and launched our new Company structure, culture and vision. 

I’m excited to see the next phase of our Company’s growth and development plans – we are introducing a new Management Information System, we are exploring new markets and exporting opportunities, and we are continuing to invest in our employees – through training programmes, Apprenticeship programmes and much needed and necessary up-skilling. There is much more to come from GES Group.”
