Grants Electrical Services Host MLAs

Ballymena based GES Group (Grants Electrical Services Ltd.) hosted MLAs at visit to £200k expansion project that will see the company’s Mallusk branch increase by 11,000 sq. ft.

Mallusk, 10th March 2013 – GES Group (Grants Electrical Services Ltd.), established in Ballymena in 1972, are now a leading electrical and mechanical engineering company with three locations in Ballymena (Head Office), Antrim and Mallusk. The company hosted local MLAs at a visit to their Mallusk premises, where CEO Tom Grant announced the company’s development plans for a £200k expansion project that will see the Workshop and facility size increase by 11,000 sq. ft. David Moore, GES Group Managing Director, said, “This is a very exciting time for GES Group. Grants Electrical Services has a long-established reputation in Ballymena, Northern Ireland and beyond for quality products, technical expertise and unparalleled service standards. This expansion project will further enhance our company capabilities and will also see the creation of at least 10 new jobs, including 8 new Engineering Apprentice positions. Not only will we expand our premises in 2014, but we recently launched a new website and we have also achieved NQA ISO 9001, 18001 and 14001 accreditations.”

GES Group have had a successful year; achieving Investors in People status, winning Employee of the Year and Apprentice of the Year at the annual Ballymena Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards, and being a key partner in the successful development and commissioning of the renewable energy, carbon neutral, AD Plant for Ballyrashane Co-Op, which was also an award winner at the Sustainable Ireland Awards 2013.

Mr Grant added, “GES Group were traditionally an AC/DC motor rewind and remanufacture specialist, but we have developed our portfolio to provide an extensive range of technically advanced products and services like industrial electrical contracting and maintenance, design and manufacture of switchboard distribution systems, HV installation and testing and dynamic balancing and vibration analysis, all with a break-down service for clients that is fully operational 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.”

Mr Moore continues, “We pride ourselves on building strong partnerships with clients and offering the best in energy solutions to a wide variety of industries; from dairy facilities, to tyre manufacturers, animal feed plants to power stations – using a unique, holistic and full-circle approach, so that we can provide for all of our customer and client needs in-house. The development of our Mallusk facility will strengthen our position and allow for even further development of our capabilities, as we look forward to growing our business in 2014.”
