I hope that you all had a great Christmas and I would like
to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and successful new year.
In 2011 the Chamber Management Committee worked tirelessly
to represent the membership:
·
We
ran a number of very successful and well attended business meetings. The highlight of the year was the visit of Republic of Ireland President Mary
McAleese to Ballymena in October. This visit sent out a very positive message
from Ballymena
·
Impact
North East was a new initiative. Organised at very short notice and with
practically no budget this week long series of events highlighted the range of
practical help and advice available to businesses
·
We
lobbied on your behalf on important issues such as paid on street car parking
and small business rate relief, both of which had a positive outcome
·
The
2011 Ballymena Borough Business Excellence Awards were the most successful to
date. The feedback has been very positive and the awards ceremony now ranks
amongst the best in Northern Ireland
·
Chamber
has an excellent relationship with Ballymena Borough Council and we ensure that
your voice is heard
·
Ballymena
Town Centre Development Ltd was formed this year – Chamber have directors on
the board and also on the sub committees
Ballymena Borough Chamber of Commerce and Industry will
continue to work for all members and to promote the Borough in 2012. Please
remember – the Chamber is here to represent you. You are the Chamber. If you
have issues that you would like the Chamber to address, please do not hesitate
to contact either myself or Chris Wales, the Chamber’s Business Development
Manager.
