Radio Cracker has been broadcasting to the Ballymena District during the Christmas period for 19 years and it now occupies a custom built studio provided for them by Montgomerys, Ballymoney Street.

The success of the venture can be seen in the fact that local businesses and individuals have subscribed over one million pounds to Third World Charities in the name of Ballymena. Among the projects that have been funded and who carry the name are the Ballymena Wing of a hospital in India and the MV Ballymena that sails in the upper part of the Amazon river reaching places that are only accessible by water.

Hugo Duncan, (the wee man from Strabane), who is one of the most popular presenters on Radio Ulster, prepares to sample one of his favourite delicacies, “a crame bun”, in Montgomerys Restaurant. He called in to show his support for the work of Radio Cracker and took part in Billy McFarland’s programme.

(L-R): Richard Montgomery, Billy McFarland, Timothy Montgomery, Hugo Duncan, Willie McKay and Steven Montgomery.

In association with Radio Cracker, Montgomerys will be hosting a Carol Service at 8.00pm on Sunday 13th.December and a fireside quiz on Saturday 19th.December. Everyone is welcome.
