Audrey was a prominent businesswoman in Ballymena for a number of years and has served on several public and
private sector bodies, including two terms as President of Ballymena Borough Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Audrey said that she was very proud to have been elected Mayor.
“It is an honour and a privilege to be Mayor of Ballymena. This is a very important year in the run up to RPA, when Ballymena Council will merge with Larne and Carrickfergus. I will represent all the citizens of the Borough to the best of my ability.
I congratulate the Deputy Mayor, James McClean and I look forward to working with him during the year.
I have a hard act to follow as we all know that the outgoing Mayor, Alderman PJ McAvoy and his Deputy, Cllr. Mrs. Beth Adger worked very hard during their term and delivered well for the Borough. Well done and thank you PJ and Beth.
I pledge, as Mayor, to work hard to deliver on what I know is a very busy agenda for this Council and I have every confidence that I will be ably assisted by the Deputy Mayor”.
